I got these boots as a present for myself, its the only way to get what you really want, these boots are absolutely fantastic to look at and wear. The quality of the leather is very good and the upper part is quilted so they should be warm as well as stylish. I think they will go with skirts and jeans and I plan to wear them all the time with skinny jeans as my legs are long and skinny, so these boots are perfect for my christmas present. The size is generous as my prefered size was not in stock and I decided to chance the next size down and phew! they fit me perfect.

Great boots, bit big on the foot, 4 Jan 2012

I bought these boots because they were cheaper than everywhere else and also the leather is soft, grainy and of great quality. The inside is lined with a tartan-print fabric and I wore them today with very thin socks- I can say they are very good at keeping the cold out as the leather on the foot area feels very much thicker and stronger than around the calves.

The other review states that they are very tight around the calves- I actually didn't think so at all. They look great with a skirt and with jeans, plenty of room for my calves when I wear jeans. In all honesty, calves on an average person with normal legs are supposed to be the same width as the part of the thigh directly above the knee. My legs are not like this, with the calves being a bit thinner than the lower thigh- however there is plenty of room in my boots and I do think that someone with 'normal' sized calves as per their own measurement would fit into these.

I bought mine in a size 3, and naturally the calves are made to get bigger as the size increases.

I do think though, that the size isn't true to the actual measurements; I am always a size 3 perfectly in most shoe shops, and in my opinion, the foot size of these boots runs a little large. I think they are half to a whole size bigger than the number, and so my recommendation to anyone would be to get a size smaller. Obviously I couldn't because size 3 was the smallest they did, but nevertheless! I wear orthopaedic insoles to correct my flat feet and with these insoles, I still had slipping of my foot within the shoe area. These insoles are actually quite thick and significantly raise the arch of my foot, but I've ended up going out and purchasing a pair of full shoe insoles additionally in my size to put into the boots. Therefore, I effectively am using 2 sets of insoles in these to bring them up to my real size! Definitely I recommend getting a size down.

If you have wide feet though, these are fine for you and you will probably be able to buy your normal size and get away with a good fit if you wear really thick socks- which is naturally what most people do in the winter for when these boots are used most often!

In all honestly, I am giving these boots 4 stars because their quality is amazing. I've already scuffed mine because of my flat feet and the insides of my ankles clashing all the time- but the scuffs are hardly visible and nothing a good shoeshine/polish wouldn't be able to get rid of. The only loss of a star is due to the real size of the boot actually being about a whole size up than the number it states- I have narrow feet and if you do too, go a size down.

Only problem with going down a size is that you will have to consider your calves- a size down will mean the boot being tighter at the calves. I guess it's just trial and error! For people with slim feet, and normal-small calves, go a size down. For people with wide feet and fat calves, get your normal size and hope the calves fit!

Great pair of boots! They don't look fabulously expensive but I've worn them everyday for the last month in all weathers and just like Rod Stewart, they're wearing well! Really good value for the price.

Dont even think about, 'should you or shouldnt you' buy these boots they are brilliant. Very soft, very comfy and the price is fantastic. Great delivery time as well. I have them in both brown and black and I am chuffed to bits with them, they were straight on my feet and I can wear them all day with no rubbing.
Buy them, you really wont regret it !!

I bought a pair of these boots for my daughter, who is 19, for Christmas last year thinking they looked cute - she was never out of them but if she wasn't wearing them her older sister, who is 20, was. In fact she managed to somehow take them back to Uni with her and wore them until she wore them out! Her Christmas wish list included these so I bought them both a pair this year and they wear them most of the time. apparently they are so comfortable and look great with their jeans tucked in, also because of the crepe sole it is easier to walk in the snow - they tell me.

Too small on the foot and too big in the leg, 29 Nov 2011

I received these boots today, just two days after ordering with free delivery.
However, the boots themselves are a really odd size. I'm sending them straight back as they are so uncomfortable. The foot is very shallow, and far smaller than an average 6 - I ordered a 6 even though I'm usually a size 5, so I could wear thick socks. Even without socks they are far too tight.
The boot is also really tall and cuts in behind the knee - I'm 5'5", so not that short! And the calf is really loose even with trousers tucked in. So it looks like I'm wearing a pair of wellies that are several sizes too big.
The leather and general quality are really good though. So if you have long legs and a larger calf, they might be fine as long as you order a size bigger to fit your feet in!

Mine have just arrived - very swift delivery and obviously a high quality product. I have wide calves and fortunately these fit nicely around the leg.

However, the foot is another story - I am always a size 41 (7.5) and, while these are fine on the length, they are far too shallow to run over and across the bridge of my feet. It's with a sadness that I have to return them at a time when size 8 isn't available :-(

Received these today, only two days from placing lightning deal order and I am very happy. They are made from thick supple leather with a lovely weathered hide look. They are longer in the leg than anticipated (tape measure inside boot: approx 41cm at back, 43cm at front) fine for me as they come up just under my kneecap so comfortable when sat down. My calf at widest is approx 14.5cm and these slip on with room to spare. The only point I would make is they are definitely slim in the foot - I ordered a full size larger and they are comfy barefoot or with tights but I think they will need wearing in before I can attempt even a slim sock.

This is my second pair, I had purchased a pair of these boots before not expecting great things at this price. Well I was very wrong, these boots are fantastic for the price, I work for a builders merchants as a HIAB delivery driver and have found these to be light, strong and yes I have tested their saftey toe at first hand. Unfortunatly I managed to have a 6 foot RSJ fall on me foot from waist height well my toe cap took the whole brunt I did have a fractured toe and it was brused but if I hadent had them on I would have lost the end 2 inches of me foot so yep these boots get my thumbs up. I had them for 9 months wore them all through the winter 9 1/2 hrs a day 5 days a week and thay finaly had to be retired as the sole safty plate on my clutch foot finaly snapped and I couldent take the clicking any more. My advice is these babys are well worth the money and you wont be disapointed Oh make sure you run some polish over them at the weekend and thay will be fully waterproof for the life of the boot +++++++++
